Wayne Kramer Strat

Had an unusual Fender Strat come in for some work. It’s a Wayne Kramer model, with striking finish and unusual placing of the hum bucker pickup. The guitar came in for a full setup, and also the customer felt the neck pickup wasn’t sounding quite right. I gave the guitar a clean and fitted some Ernie Ball 10 gauge strings. I then adjusted the truss rod, set the nut grooves to the correct depth and then reset the action.
Once plugged in it seemed the neck pickup was louder than the bridge so I balanced the pickup heights so they were more balanced in volume.
The guitar was then returned to the customer ready for some gigs as we come fully out of lockdown!
