Burns Sonic bass
Just before the government put the country on lockdown, the last instrument we had in to do some work on was a very early 1960’s Burns Sonic Bass guitar. It came in needing a clean and setup.
We removed the old strings and gave the guitar a good clean and polish.
We then fitted some D’Addario half round short scale strings and tuned to concert pitch. Although we were unable to adjust the neck relief due to being an older instrument with no trussrod, we were able to set and lower the action and reset intonation.
Plugging in and testing we found that the bass not only had a cool retro look, but it sounded great too.
It’s always nice to get these older instruments in that have some great history to them, and then returning them to happy customers.
On a side note, we hope that everyone is staying safe in these very strange times, and look forward to when life can return to normal and we can reopen our doors!
Take care everyone and we will see you all soon!
