Eric Johnson pickups
We had a well gigged early 2000 Fender Strat come in, which the customer having spent the last 6 months gigging on a cruise ship, had started to feel the guitar was feeling a bit flat and uninspiring. So before his next 6 months at sea, he wanted some Eric Johnson signature pickups fitted, and a setup doing, so after installing the new pickups and giving the guitar a good clean and setup we plugged it in.
This is the first time I’ve played a guitar with these pickups in, and I was very impressed with the clarity and range of sounds the pickups gave. No boom in the low end or a piercing top end, just clear and balanced across the three pickups.
I’m sure the guitar will be getting some serious playing over the next 6 months, Bon voyage!
