Rickenbacker 330

Rickenbacker 330

We had a 90’s model Rickenbacker 330 in Jetglo come in that had been left in its case and not played for many years. I’ve always had an affection for Rickenbacker’s owning a 330 12 string myself and having  a love for the sound of early 60’s music. From the Byrds to early Beatles, there’s something about the sound and look of them, that only a Rickenbacker can deliver.

Due to being left unplayed for a long time, the first thing needing sorting was the electrics, so I cleaned up all the pots and switches. I removed the jack socket and cleaned the barrel removing the lime scale type build up on it and sprayed it with contact cleaner.

I removed the strings and tightened up all the hardware, before cleaning the fret board and giving the body a good clean and polish.

Once the new D’Addario strings were fitted and tuned to pitch, I set the neck relief, action and intonation.

Plugging the guitar in it played and sounded great, giving the classic jangly sound Rickenbacker’s are known for.

A very happy customer collected the guitar, looking forward to enjoying it again and getting back into playing the guitar.
