Gretsch Mandolin
We had a Gretsch New Yorker Mandolin come in that had been left in a cupboard, gathering dust and not in a very good playing condition.
After spending the weekend at Cropredys Fairport Convention music festival, the owner of the Mandolin was inspired to get it out, and get it fully working again.
It needed a good clean and polish, restringing and the set-up doing. After cleaning the Instrument, lemon oiling the fret board and fitting D’Addario strings the setup was next. It was at this point I found the wooden bridge was split and moving about making it difficult to get the action to settle.
We were able to glue and repair the split, which made the bridge stable again. Once this was done the setup was completed and the Instrument was returned to a very happy customer.
