The MXR distortion III is a versatile distortion pedal, that offers anywhere from mild overdrive to massive amp like distortion.
The pedal has three controls to tailor the pedal to your playing style. They are Output, which balances the volume of the effect between the pedal being on or off. Tone, this lets you EQ the pedal from dark and warm to bright and cutting and Distortion which sets the amount of gain to your sound.
At lower gain settings the pedal sounds like a small valve combo breaking up, great for chordal rhythm playing. Crank the drive to the max and you have all the distortion of an amp on 10, perfect for big power chords and letting your solo’s sustain!
The pedal runs from either a 9volt battery or 9volt mains power supply (not included).
