Pedaltrain Pedalboards

For a lot of guitarists out there, effects pedals can be an integral part of their live sound. Whether it’s a modest, simple setup of just a few pedals or a full on atmospheric stereo rig of thirty individual effects, Pedaltrain have truly set the industry standard around the world when it comes to both reliability and flexibility with some of musics biggest names touring their boards and putting them to the ultimate road test.

First pioneered in the late 90’s by founder John Chandler from the comfort of his own garage. John was like every other pedal junkie in the world with that same thought “I love my effects, but it can be hard getting them from A to B safely and securely” so he had the brilliant idea of fabricating light weight aluminium tube boards with reinforced welded points to ensure the best possible structural integrity as well as keeping costs and weight down. Over the past seventeen plus years these pedalboards have really launched into the spotlight and become undoubtedly the most popular boards on the market, with millions of units already sold and many more to come in the future.

I’ve been using a couple of different Pedaltrain boards for about six years and in that time I’ve found that their greatest strength is their flexibility in size. From their patented “Nano” board (the smallest in the Pedaltrain range) to the colossal “Terra” series which are big enough to fill the entire stage and everything in between. I’ve been using the medium sized “Pedaltrain 2” for six years and it’s never let me down. It’s tough, reliable and completely simple in every way. Just four rails and some Velcro is a modest but genius solution for pedals being kicked around the stage or lost in transit. For smaller shows or fly dates I will use the brilliant new “Pedaltrain Metro” which has been design with the travelling musician in mind. A smaller board with a size that is compatible with FAA cabin luggage requirements means I can take it on the flight with me as opposed to check it at the mercy of baggage handlers. (We’ve all seen the videos) I really don’t know how I got along before I started using these boards, they make shows so much easier as far as setting up and packing down goes. As well as being able to choose between a soft case or an ATA spec flight case, Pedaltrain are also in the process of designing backpack cases to free up a hand when travelling long haul. It’s great innovations like these that make Pedaltrain boards worth anyone’s money. Really not breaking the bank for the sake of ease and durability.
